While we were sitting in church today Bryan told me to wipe the inside of my eye because it was looking a little dark. Well, it didn't go away, I have bags.

It is a sad day when you look forward to getting out of the house even if it is to Wal-Mart. (Half of the store smelled like fecal matter, I just had to say it.)

The Hair Stylist

Christopher was having some "Tummy Time" and I realized how long his hair was getting, so I grabbed the scissors and went to town. It is very crooked but better then before. Check out the before and after shots.

Baby Whisperer Numero Dos

Yes, just call me the Baby Whisperer Numero Dos. I may be jumping the gun a little, but baby Christopher had an awesome day of napping in his own bed and went to bed tonight like a champ. This past week and a half I have been working on undoing all of my parenting skills I put in place over the last three months. Christopher would not sleep unless being held, or sleep longer then 10 min. at a time because he kept spiting out the pacifier. I have spent hours on the phone consulting on how to go about undoing what I have done with Sandra and Mom so some of the credit can go to them. I have also read the Baby Whisperer, and Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child in hopes of solving my issues. I was a woman on a mission especially since Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child informed me I would have a bratty child that would grow to an adult with issues, or something like that if the child did not get sleep. I had a couple things already going against me such as the vibrating chair, (I swear those things can't be good, but it kept him quiet), paint fumes from the home renovation, and Bryan and I as parents. So like I said, I was a woman on a mission because Christopher has to overcome so many obstacles. You may be asking how I accomplished this amazing task; well you will have to wait for my book, but it had a lot of crying involved (no I did not Ferberize) getting rid of a pacifier, a Miracle Blanket (a.k.a. stray jacket that I bought for way too much money at a baby boutique in Scottsdale and worth every penny), and what I am calling a Miracle Sock. I can't get too detailed with the Miracle Sock because it is worth marketing but lets just say socks as mentioned in an earlier post can be used for many things in the Jensen Household. Ok, so I will never market the Miracle Sock so what I did was cut a hole for the babies thumb to stick through so those blasted extra fingers wouldn't get in the way, it seemed to do the trick and I have been using it ever since. I am available for phone interviews for all of you struggling parents, I will be more then happy to charge you ridiculous amounts of money to tell you how you screwed up your child, but don't call during the hours of 9, 1, & 3 because my child will be napping! Ha ha, anyway, I just thought I would share my great news and tell everyone to pray for me that Christopher's sleeping may continue so I can get this house finished, oh and some sleep for myself.

And the rains came tumblin down!

Well, all schools in good ole Lubbock were canceled on Friday due to the excessive flooding from all of the rains that came. Since Bryan had some extra time we decided to go for a walk. I tried to dress the baby in something warm but this very little sweater hardly made it over his ever growing belly. So this was my solution, yes those are socks on his hands. I am in trouble when it starts to get cold here because I am an Arizona girl and don't even own a sweater, I think I will have to invest in a couple tube socks so I can keep my hands warm as well. Oh, and yes I got Bryan to wear the Snuggli that you see in the picture, he offered so I said go for it - He looked a bit dorky but I thought it was so hilarious I didn't say anything and made him think I was getting a picture of the baby when I just wanted to document this. The truth is, I think anyone wearing a papoose thing looks nerdy, but they do the job.

Looking Good!

All tuckered out! You can't see it but there is a puddle of drool on Bryan's hand.

Don't be too surprised if our family has to dress like this for the the upcoming winter months, our money will go to the heating bill leaving us to make do with our socks to keep us warm.

It's a Good Thing

I was pondering, as I often do, and an idea just hit me about what I should do with the extra lemons I had laying around. Freeze the juice! Ok that may seem like a no brainer but it is how I have frozen the juice people, in ice trays. Many of my recipes call for a teaspoon or so of fresh lemon juice so; I have filled up an ice tray where I have measured each with 2 teaspons of juice. I know Martha would be proud. Once frozen my plan is to stick them in a freezer bag so the stay fresh and if I want to get a little crazy I will vacuum seal them so they are really fresh. When a recipe calls for lemon juice, I am good to go, and I will no longer have half a lemon sitting around going bad. It's a Good Thing.

I sit around holding the baby most of the day and I discovered a scab in my nose with my one free hand. I have picked it for the last week about twice a day (it comes back fast). I decided it will never go away if I don't stop, so I have been pick free for a day and a half and am still going strong!

I usually don't like to post without a picture but thought this post would require a difficult camera angle.

Labor Day

Today is Labor Day and Bryan finished mudding all of the ceilings in our house! Now we just have to mud the walls in the kitchen, sand, prime, paint (just about everything), work on the floors, and move all of our furniture in.

In our attempt to make friends Bryan and I went to the ward picnic. It was nice, and Bryan was able to talk to a couple second year law students in order to get the inside scoop. It was interesting to find out they were all about three years younger then Bryan even though they all looked older. I enjoyed myself, just mainly listening, except for the part were I left with five mosquito bites.
