So I was sitting on the sofa the other day and had a tickle in my left ear. I went to scratch it and found gold, well not real gold but for anyone that has pulled a chunk of ear wax from their ear knows what I am talking about. The experience only happens once every blue moon, but when it does there is nothing more satisfying.
Ok, ok, this may be gross, but don't go shaking your finger at me, you KNOW you have felt the same way too.
(To be sung to the tune of Beverly Hillbillies theme song)
Come listen to a story about a women named Whitney
A Poor law student wife, barley kept her family fed,
Then one day she was a shootin at some food,
And up through the canal (ear) came a bubblin' crude
Ear wax that is, brown gold, Texas tea

It's Too Much!
Well, I am almost back from my Mt. Everest trip. I had to stay awhile and acclimatize myself but I think I have almost completed the mountain of laundry I had forming. I also spent time doing the following: cleaned my fridge (I realized where all of my plastic containers went to), de-junked the laundry room, chucked the rotting potatoes in the pantry, organized the cupboards in the bathroom and kitchen, removed a layer of hardwater from the tub ( I am still buzzed from the chemicals), made our bed, hung pictures in our bedroom, spent hours cleaning and scraping paint and plaster from our bathroom which we have never used until this weekend, mopped the floors, hung some shelves in the family room, and started the process to paint the cabinets in the bathrooms. It may not sound like much but this has taken all week, and I still have more to go.
Why am I worrying about all of this?
Well my original plan was to wait on any organizing until Sandra made her way down here, and yes I realize that could be two years from now, but I was willing to make that sacrifice. The truth is, we are having some friends move in this summer while they try and sale their house and before they move. When you realize someone else will be living in your home without you, you really open your eyes and see all of the dark and hidden corners you can hide when people are just visiting. My eyes have been opened, and I have been going crazy ever since. It doesn't help that our house is still NOT FINISHED, so we have baseboards half off, missing faceplates on all outlets, tape on the walls, a toilet that has never worked, and I can go on and on and on. I could spend the rest of my days working on this blasted house but I have to be finished because I leave for Jean and Eric's Wednesday, and will not be back until August! I can't wait to get out of here and just leave this mess behind!
Oh, and in the mean time, the laundry is piling up again.

Mount Everest
I started climbing Mt. Everest this week. It's is huge to look at and it takes my breath away every time I look at it. I am attempting to do this on my own, no help from my Sherpa, oxygen, or any fancy gear or gadget, just me, my dirty clothes, and my washing machine.
Oh, you didn't really think I was talking about the real Mt. Everest, no, I was just talking about the growing pile of laundry in our bedroom, bathroom, and babies room, oh and laundry room, I am creating my own mountain range. The funny thing about laundry is when it is all washed and the mound disappears, you turn right around and on the sofa is another Mount Everest of freshly laundered clothes waiting to be folded and put away. Oh the agony, when does it ever end!

Rest in Peace
I decided to throw out all of the old and nasty dog toys today and I came across this guyThis is Bono's first toy and his first love. I have held onto Moose for almost five years now because he has been a good companion to my Bono Bears. I have decided this thing is just too nasty and old to hold onto any longer, but I couldn't just throw a memory away without taking a picture to document. Goodbye nasty matted destuffed and deflowered Moose, may you rest in peace.

How To, Tutorial
It has recently occurred to me that not everyone may know the true and correct way to eat a sandwich, or hamburger for that matter. I have decided to share with you all what I have learned so long ago, and have been practicing since, I do feel it has changed my life. Please see the tutorial below. The pièce de résistance occurs in step 6 where the center is left leaving nothing but the gooiest, or juiciest part to be eaten free of crust, char, ect. Please go forward from this very day eating sandwiches and hamburgers in such a way and I promise a more full and happier existence.

This Amuses Me...
Typically when listening to the public radio station, which is also the classical music station, the dj's always seem to be so dignified with a slight pretentious air about them, as they should, this is a classy station after all. A station supported by viewers like you, but not really, it's really supported by the listeners who have money laying around that they can just give away, or for the listeners that have written it into their will, I think that is hilarious every time I hear them advertise for the option, I am neither, I am just the freeloader.
Sorry for the tangent you can tell it is listener donation time again. Anyway, I always have the up most respect for these dj's having to pronounce such difficult composer names at a moments notice, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina's name for example, would roll from their tongue with no effort at all, and more then likely they would have the correct accent. I bring this up because here in Lubbock, our public station is sponsored by a little restaurant called Cafe J. The dj will usually tell when Cafe J is sponsoring a particular part of the program and then give a short description of their specials for the week. This act seems harmless enough, but there is one dj who may be brilliant in knowing the ins and outs of classical music, and a genius in pronouncing difficult names, but he cannot pronounce gastronomical terms. I guess anything not related to music is just too difficult, or this just proves my point that Lubbock and Lubbockn's are not food savvy at all!
Here was today's latest mispronunciation...
Confit: meat that has been cooked and preserved in its own fat
Pronunciation: kōn-ˈfē dj's pronunciation: kän-fit
I know many of you may be saying I am being too hard on him, I mean gee Whitney, you can't even spell or write coherent sentences, and to you I say, tushay (and yes that took me 10 min. to find the spelling and it is correct at least according to the urban dictionary, it is a form of the French word touchÃ) , but just give me this one little amusement. Now, this is not his first blunder, but what kills me is when he has to tell the specials again no one has corrected him.
Ok, so I just reread what I wrote and I sound like a nerd, but I still think it was funny. Oh, the days when I used to talk to people out loud, now look at what has become of me and my humor!
