Skip

Look how cute, this little guy showed up on our doorstep bright and early this morning.

As cute as those big eyes are, he sure was making a lot of noise all night long! I had the window cracked open while we were sleeping and this little guy was wining all night long. I didn't know it was him at the time until the screeching came to our front door. I pulled him in the house and I new it was our neighbors new puppy from a couple houses down. It was way too early to drop him off so I laid with the little guy on the couch. By the time I went to drop him off I found out the family was gone to work for the day, so I was called to dogie sit.

Look at those big eye and oversized paws, I love puppies and couldn't resist. The little guy kept trying to crawl into the cuff of my pant leg so I made a sling to carry him in. I am not the crazy dog lady, I had to do it for his own good or Fritz would have picked on him all day. I am thinking this could be a marketing opportunity, Sandra would be the seamstress of course.

Anyway, after a long day of caring for puppy and baby, as much as I love them both one had to go...Yes it was the puppy, but if Christopher doesn't start napping again he might be next. At last the neighbors came to get the little guy, Skip.

Good bye Skip, please do not cry, I know you will miss me, I am the best thing that ever happened to you, the sling, the deli meat, the love, ahhh we will always have today.

Fresh and Colorful

Bryan has been working late on his paper this week and he came home the other night with flowers. I have them sitting on my ledge over the sink in the kitchen. I figured that would be the place that I would see them the most! Something so little makes me sooo happy, I love having fresh flowers around, I even love the bubbles in the water. I think the bubbles remind me of Sprite which reminds me of clean and refreshing, which means the advertisers are doing their jobs. - Only from the mind of Whitney -

Under Construction

Well you may notice the blog is getting a bit of a face lift. I am still working on customizing the background which might end up in a call to my brother in law Stephen, who are we kidding, will end up in a phone call to Stephen. I know the excitement of the final product might kill you but I think you will survive, just barley though.

AZ or Bust!

I can definitely say Bryan and I were experiencing Spring Fever and were so excited to bust out of this town and get ourselves to AZ. Here are some of our activities...

Driving, driving and more driving...

Breakfast with the Farnsworths at the Pancake HouseKissing Cousins (Christopher and Sydney, Karen and Rachel)

Bryan trying to get candid shots at breakfast because we all know I can't smile in pictures

Girls day! This was one of the free afternoons all of the Paul women had together, but with being moms come the kids so we just hung out at moms house and Sandra helped me make curtains for Christopher's room. Karen is taking the picture, surprise surprise, and I am trying to avoid it no help to Sandra.

Karen so graciously offered to watch Christopher for Bryan and I so we could have a night out, but look what happens when baby Christopher stays with Auntie K...Hmm what a pretty girl, oh wait that is CHRISTOPHER!

Not so cute, I like the drool.

Bryan's family was in town for the first half of the week, and what do you do on a beautiful spring day but goofy golf and Golf Land!

I don't think we have any Tiger Woods on our hands!

These were just a couple of the fun things we did while on break.

It is hard to come back but at least I have my trip to Eric and Jeans in April and then back to AZ for the summer to look forward to.

Spring is in the air!

It is a amazing what can happen in a weeks time!

Spring brings growth and new life...

For example, I came back from our Spring Break vacation in AZ and look what was growing in our yard! I didn't even know they were there until now.

The trees are getting leaves! I have been waiting for this all winter. Even though I have lived in AZ, a desert, my entire life I don't seem to remember it ever looking so dead as Lubbock in winter. I don't think I have ever noticed what it looks like when leaves grow in, but since I have been back I am happy to announce the leaves are coming in and getting greener and bigger everyday.

This is a compare and contrast shot of the oak and still dead pecan tree in our front yard.

Christopher is literally popping out of his pj's. He too is growing just like everything else around.

And probably more exciting then the growth of the trees and flowers is my little brown eyed muncher got his first tooth. Bryan was giving him a drink out of a glass and heard a clinking sound and sure enough it was a tooth.

Italy 03' or Unpacking?

I finally started going through some of the boxes in the office and I came across my pictures from my summer music program in Italy with Afton and Riki. Yes, a distraction! Oh the memories, the Summer school, not so good, but everything else was great. I had a lot of fun this afternoon postponing further organization of the office and reminisced while touching up more photos.

A room with a view. I loved that we stayed in a flat and were able to look out over the country side. The view is picturesque but the sounds that came from this particular window were not always. On many occasions we could hear the old Italian lady that lived in the building would often start yelling and swearing in Italian at who knows who. The sounds may have not always been pleasant but the swearing old lady must have been some cook because it always smelled really good! Mmmmm

The school took us on a weekend to Switzerland. I wasn't necessarily excited about this, but quickly changed my mind once we arrived. We stayed in a little skiing town called Andermatt. We had the opportunity to take a lift up to the Alps and had a great experience. It was an amazing afternoon, and I would love to go back. Everything was so clean!

Picture from our day trip to Venice. I am glad we had a chance to go so I can say I went on a gondola ride, fed the pigeons, and stood in Piazza San Marco. Venice is expensive and crowded, so I think my day trip was good enough for me.

SINALUNGA, not the most exciting day but the locals made us a feast that we all enjoyed. We ate in a barn type place across from the small church we would perform in later. The landscape again was amazing. This is a picture of Afton striking a pose in front of the vineyards, how cool is that.
Sigh, Lubbock can't quite be compared to the landscapes of Italy so these pictures and memories will have to do. Now back to maybe organizing the office, I can pretend that just outside the window is a terracotta roof and rolling hills as far as the eye can see.

Things I have no business doing!

So last night I was up until 2 a.m. helping Bryan edit his trial brief! What??? I know, this is the girl who would make her way over to Sandra's house every time I needed to write a "concept statement" for one of my dreaded design projects in college. This is the girl that has absolute no spelling ability and no idea the rules of grammar. I stayed up thinking about other things that I have done in my life that I had no business doing and out of the many, one situation came to mind.I believe I was in college at the time and somehow, Afton West (Kuzdas) was asked to be a judge in the Miss Cinderella pageant and then passed the "opportunity" onto me, being stupid I said yes. I was supposed to be the music expert but I had to be a judge on all parts of the pageant. Yes you can stop laughing now. I had to conduct one on one interviews with the girls and come up with my own questions and have a heart to heart conversation with them so I could really get to know them. AHHHH, I don't talk let alone converse with other people! I had to write a bio on myself and they read it the night of the competition and I had to stand up and do the beauty wave to the audience as I was announced. As a side note, I am sure I had Sandra write my bio for me as well. I sat next to the other judges, past pageant winners, and then there was me! How out of place was I, remember this is the girl that has just posted about her love of sweat pants! All in all I had a good time remembering this once in a life time experience, and other things I have no business doing.

Photo Touch Ups

So I have spent way to much time tonight messing around with Photoshop touching up pictures. I got the idea from another blog I was looking at today, and boom, hours wasted. Check out my pics, I just have 99 million left to go! I usually only switch heads around for Sandra and Karen so they all have happy smiling kids for their Christmas card pics, so this is going a little out of my comfort zone. I will save the cropping for another day so don't get too critical...Sandra!

Brandon & Ella After. Brandon looks like he is glowing but I think that is just because he is the Angel of the Eric & Jean Paul family, not my Photoshop skills.
